Facilitating The Work

So now that we know a little about The Work, Byron Katie, and how we must put ourselves up to Inquiry using the 4 Questions if we want to eliminate or at least reduce our suffering in an given situation, I feel it's important to highlight a few key areas.

Facilitating The Work is an honorDid you know you could become a "Certified" Facilitator of The Work? Sure. This certification from Byron Katie International says you've completed the required sessions ~ which can be cost prohibitive for some ~ and have undergone the training necessary to get your 'Certificate.' It's not a license. With that said,  you don't have to become certified to help another human being.

When 'The Work' came to me ~ before Byron Katie introduced it into the world with a name calling it 'The Work' - I  was about 5. I didn't heal then because I was 5. I hadn't yet been adequately damaged through false perceptions so there was nothing to heal from. And by the time I was at an age to understand I could apply this (for me) Intuitive Knowing, I was into choosing alcohol as my solution. With that said I'm going to make a brain-busting announcement and claim that everyone already has the Truth ingrained and embedded upon their Spirit. 'The Work' is just another method that Byron Katie has brought to the world in order to help us get back to our truth.

So if you would like someone to help you with The Work or to become a person someone can do The Work with, I would love for you to keep three traits in mind and to understand why they're essential to success in Inquiry.

If you choose to help or be helped with another person doing Inquiry, I would love if you helped or chose someone exhibiting the following three traits. After all, the last thing we want to do is damage our already nightmarish perceptions further into the recesses of our mind. Disease or Dis-Ease flourishes in the dark and hidden. To have our shaming, blaming, justifying, confused thoughts delve further into hiding because we innocently garnered someone who lacked clarity would be counter-productive to our goal.

Facilitate Inquiry Under These 3 Traits:
  1. Compassion - If you lack compassion with the person you are trying to help, as you venture into this realm of 4 Questions, the HSP, Psychic, Empath, or other Intuitive being will feel it. If you're trying to help just to show how well you can parrot back 4 questions or to look like some sort of Spiritual 'Guru' the HSP will know it and you will either alienate her  or worse; Mistakenly give her the thought that anyone who wants to help her is really using her to further bolster their own ego. This can be quite damaging to her in the long run. If you lack compassion, you have no business helping or facilitating Inquiry. How to gain compassion: Imagine yourself in the shoes of the other person.
  2. Humility - Humility is my favorite and most beloved quality. Humility is that quality of being humble in action. It is not the same as humiliation and low self-esteem  In fact, I might say that perfect humility enjoys perfect self-esteem. The opposite of humility is pride. If a person comes to me in the spirit of doing me a favor, by helping me with The Work for example, and then boasts a sort of pride that makes my HSP sense tingle like "This person thinks s/he is above this" or "S/He thinks s/he has all the answers" then I may not do very good work. How to gain humility: Imagine you don't know all the answers and that more will always be revealed if you have humility. If you have all the answers, then you can grow no more. And I believe that as long as I am experiencing being human, there is always room to learn and grow.
  3. Clarity / Sense of Authentic Self - If I wanted to learn to be a frog, I would ask help not from a horse but from a frog. For this reason, if I want to get on and walk the path of clarity, I would ask the person who has clarity to help me. This is definitely not to say that the person needs to be perfect because good luck in finding that, but that the person needs to at least be clear. Hint: In my experience, a clear mind will exhibit the first two traits without effort. They will already have compassion and humility. Use your Intuitive Sense/Spirit/HSP to figure it out.
In my next post, I will address the 3 Components needed to DO the Work with success. You'll really love this one because there are three mandatory components for the Work to be successful in your life.

Until then, Have a Reality!
